writing articles, sharing the story of innovation in law
and technology allows him to help legal tech peers
advance their knowledge and careers. His goal is for
the educational programs he produces—including an
annual webinar with ILTA—to be trusted community
resources, delivering relevant, timely, and accurate
information. Creating these educational resources
with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
demonstrates David's respect for colleagues and a
commitment to the highest standards of ethics and
professionalism.
Volunteering for ILTA has provided David with a
pathway to help legal professionals on a global scale.
His participation with ILTA has involved much more
than merely showing up and speaking. Over 20 years
ago, David covered what was then called "ILTA" (instead
of "ILTACON") for The National Law Journal and Law
Technology News (now Legaltech News). This early
coverage brought communal awareness to ILTA's
great work. The content David creates for ILTA and
speakers he recruits bring a diversity of experience and
viewpoints to the organization. Volunteering for ILTA
with articles and program content has helped expand
his reach for "sharing the gospel" of legal technology.
The first word in ILTA is "International," and volunteering
for ILTA has allowed David to work with talented people
around the world. Whether forming new international
or U.S.-based friendships, volunteering for ILTA has
given him new insights, experiences, and connections
within the legal tech community.
