The bespoke automated system eliminates the frustrating and time-consuming process of manually tracking investor information and chasing investor data via countless emails. While many firms introduce technology to help lawyers with their everyday practice, tackling a client-facing offering is an entirely different undertaking. A client-facing offering, such as PHundRaiser, required a change to the firm's mindset. They shifted their perspective to think less like a large law firm and more like a startup company. Paul Hastings partnered with a technology solutions provider, Passthrough, for the PHundRaiser project. The partnership's proverbial "secret sauce" was Paul Hastings' ability to select a vendor partner that shared their similar mission of excellence and goals of superior execution and client service. Together, they resolved to build a solution that genuinely improved the transactional experience of all three groups using PHundRaiser, the firm's lawyers, clients, and investors. Passthrough quickly met the firm's non-negotiable requirements with enterprise- level security and privacy protections, SOC II Type 2 certification, GDPR compliance, and regular penetration testing. Throughout the partnership, members of the Passthrough and Paul Hastings teams practiced active listening and engaged authentically. The teams helped ensure success by including the right voices in planning and implementation discussions. Ultimately, the partnership and project were highly successful because the two parties decided to align with and remain focused on a common goal. Both Passthrough and Paul Hastings collectively prioritized the needs of all anticipated PHundRaiser users and relentlessly executed the shared vision until an elegant, robust solution that delivers real value to the firm's lawyers and clients was launched. Paul Hastings also created an internal culture of PHundRaiser champions. Attorneys were equipped with a comprehensive marketing toolkit and given training on using it. In this way, the firm ensured their lawyers could effectively demonstrate to clients how valuable PHundRaiser is for their business and investors. This is an invaluable strategy that Paul Hastings plans to utilize for future product launches.
