Nominee / I N N O V A T I V E L E A D E R O F T H E Y E A R A s the Senior Manager of Software Planning and Development at McGuireWoods, Rodney Mullins embraces and promotes a forward-thinking and proactive approach to legal information management. Rodney spearheads projects like automating governance processes, enhancing compliance standards, and automating research required to relate defendants named in alerts of new filings in federal courts to existing client relationships within the McGuireWoods database. He also led the firm's Records and Practice Support team through the successful implementation of the legal information governance software, FileTrail. The innovative nature of Rodney's leadership is clear in his conceptualization and development of a sophisticated custom case management product capable of accommodating the dynamic demands of evolving case management duties. The product's dashboard provides instantaneous access to critical legal data, enabling attorneys and their clients to stay current on case statuses, key performance indicators (KPIs), and other relevant information in real time. Rodney embodies ILTA's core values through understanding, respecting, and empowering employees' identities as an essential piece of diversity and inclusion. He is a highly respected and valued ILTA volunteer who served as the ILTACON 2023 Co-Chair alongside Scott David and partnered with Donna Frugoli as Co-Chairs for ILTACON 2024. While serving in this role, Rodney coordinated community forums, Rodney Mullins Senior Manager, Software Planning and Development McGuireWoods LINKEDIN / mullinsrodneyk encouraged volunteer engagement, and helped establish the Black Affinity Group within the DEI Committee. This group creates opportunities to continue networking and connect black professional technology members to increase their exposure and volunteerism within ILTA. Rodney attests that his experiences with ILTA have been transformative, offering pathways for continuous learning, professional growth, and the chance to make meaningful contributions to the legal technology community.
