Wrap-Up
I thought it might be useful to do a wrap up of
information from 2023 and previews of coming items
in 2024 for everyone.
Quarterly Updates.
ILTA (International Legal Technology Association) puts on quarterly updates
to apprise all ILTAns of what is going on throughout the year. Speakers can
include the leaders of the various volunteer teams that work year-round and
senior leadership members. If you were not able to attend these webinars –
they are all recorded and loaded on our website and can be found here.
New Volunteer Structure.
2023 saw the implementation of a new volunteer structure. I wrote a bit about
the new structure in the spring. You can find that article here. Our Volunteer
Council is hard at work and in 2024 it looks to be publishing a quarterly
newsletter of all the upcoming volunteer opportunities for the coming quarter.
This would include micro-volunteer opportunities and our traditional
committee openings. They are also working on some enhancements for our
Volunteer page.
New Roundtables and Communities of Interest.
2023 saw some new monthly and bi-monthly roundtables started for some
of our communities. A new PMO Community and bi-monthly roundtables.
The Project Management Office Community provides a platform for the
exchange of ideas, resources and information related to the PMO function in
law firms and legal departments. Key areas of interest and discussion topics
include (but not limited to) resource management, portfolio management,
PMO tools, prioritization, and alignment of projects with strategy, benefit
realization, governance, and senior leadership buy-in, management of change
and innovation, measuring and reporting value and performance, risk
management, and much more.
SMB Security Monthly meetings – security is a challenge for all of our
members, but these roundtable discussions focus on small and medium-sized
businesses. Law firms with a small IT staff of 1 – 3 staff. If you are a small firm
facing security challenges these meetings are for you.
