We found that for security, in years past many respondents did not know how their firm applied security. Also, in joining the tech survey we have over 500 responses to these questions. One of the most challenging questions for the litigation support survey has been firm encryption requirements. As they are part of the IT delivery, we are relying on the tech survey for the response about media and the requirements by firms, rather than litigation support. Sixty-three percent of the firms participating in the tech survey require encryption for media leaving the firm. As litigation support deals primarily with client data - I believe that metric is higher within our departments and practice areas. The results for the primary software were not surprising with Relativity as the market leader. Overall, the results for primary software can be helpful to know the other software options available and how widespread their use is. As on- premises software is sunsetted and firms are required to replace software, the research can include knowing what other firms have selected.
