T he pivot to more data-based decision-making in law firms in recent years has highlighted the intersection of Knowledge Management and Marketing and the importance of consistent and clean data for both groups to work from. The rise of AI And Generative AI has further highlighted the importance of collaboration in service of the business and practice of law. With all the chatter about AI in recent months, the quote from Jean-Baptiste, "the more things change, the more they stay the same…" rings true because to take advantage of all these new technologies, we must have clean data, documented definitions, and processes, and most importantly we must work collaboratively across all role and functions in the organization to facilitate this new advances. In this KM and Marketing Technology white paper, one set of authors explores actionable and novel ways to tackle the evergreen challenge of lawyer engagement. Two more authors examine new ways to look at traditional data departments that have worked with for years – such as lawyer experience and litigation analytics and their unique applications to business development and knowledge management functions.
