53 I L T A N E T . O R G What stood out was the popularity of OCR as part of PDF editing process for firms in the US and Canada. This indicates that users want fully searchable access to the published PDF content and similar functions as part of their document production workflow, and really primarily use products they own for core functionality. Our survey feedback echoes what ILTACON keynote speaker Patrick Schwerdtfeger shared during his day two address… SAP recently conducted a feature/functionality usage survey across its global client base only to discover that 95% of its clients, use less than 3% of the software's functionality. What we have heard from our own clients, is many of them don't require complex and costly document editing solutions. They simply need a solution that allows them make quick edits and mark-ups to their documents, and that it's integrated with their DMS products to make the document workflow quick, easy and seamless. This also helps avoid ''Platform Fatigue", a term used by Bob Ambrogi as part of his recent "Five Legal Tech Themes I took Away from #ILTACON22" LawSites blog post. Burgers, beers and folk heroes As part of Monday night's exhibit hall opening reception, we premiered Ireland's original superhero Cú Chulainn (pronounced Koo KUL-in). As a demigod born of a mortal mother and a divine father, he defended Ulster from many threats with his unstoppable rage, supernatural strength, and iron will. To this day, he remains Ireland's best-known folk hero, and the perfect companion for our first ILTACON. We'd like to think our clients liken us to superheroes but in reality, we are proud of our 'burgers & beers' mentality and enjoy relaxing with our mates and meeting new legal tech friends. Community Spirit We heard ILTA has always been about community and networking between members and business partners. We learned to appreciate this during our week long ILTACON adventure at National Harbor. Everyone, from ILTA members to staff to volunteers to business partners welcomed us with open arms and truly treated us like family. We headed into conference with a laser focus on discovery … getting to know the ILTA membership, what they are doing in the cloud, specifically with document bundling and PDF editing, and evaluating if there's a fit with Bundledocs. Now, with ILTACON in the rearview, we are enthusiastic that our discovery mission was a success, and we look forward to building meaningful, collaborative relationships in North America. We're already looking forward to Nashville for ILTACON 2023. ILTA Brian Kenneally is the CEO of Bundledocs helping lawyers easily create document bundles, binders and booklets from anywhere, in the cloud. As IT specialist involved in the design of legal case workf lows chief ly in litigation, conveyancing and debt collection areas, Brian works closely with his internal teams and clients to introduce new products and optimize existing solutions to the benefit of legal professionals globally.
