Professional certification (CIP). This certification establishes a practical, organization-wide baseline for all information assets and governance, from e-discovery to enterprise search and records management. A word of forewarning: This was not an easy test to pass, which it shouldn't be. Like the professional requirements for continuing legal education (CLE), a CIP must maintain their certification through additional credits and study. •In 2013, I sought and created opportunities to engage the emerging technologies we'll use to enable our industry's business transformation. I developed and delivered a 50-city programming effort, dubbed "Roadshow 2.0: A Peer-Powered Collaboration on Collaboration," in collaboration with (of course!) ILTA's leadership and peer groups and my company's amazing vendor partner network. create a result with our audience, delivering the topic serially and making use of the technology platforms and tools that will empower us in the future. My Next Steps In August 2013, we'll simultaneously make our resulting document, "The Definitive Guide to Collaboration in Law Practice," available at ILTA's annual conference and launch a rich roster of strategic consulting services to usher in new core competencies within legal. As we introduce new collaborative computing platforms and new ways of delivering legal services, all of us will have to provide advice on some level. I am thrilled to be the first to hold my title in the ILTA community, but I'm sure we'll see many new titles emerge in the years to come.
