lawyering by finding "unknown unknowns" — outlier documents and relationships that word searches and text analytics cannot find. By doing so, firms will be able to represent their clients better during trial and predict future patterns of behavior. Already, we are seeing a wave of data scientists make their presence known in legal by helping lawyers and legal service providers better interpret data or evaluate information on a whole other dimension. Virtual Lawyering: LexThink.1 speaker Chad Burton said it best: "The future of virtual law firms is the collision of full-service representation and the online delivery of legal services. It is about removing barriers for client access to lawyers. It is about delivering sophisticated work in innovative ways." While "virtual" may conjure up feelings of getting less or having fewer face-to-face experiences, the fact is technology has become the great equalizer in the delivery of legal services, especially as it relates to automation and workflow. There's nothing more powerful than a resourceful and gifted lawyer employing Web-based practice management and collaboration technologies to deliver the highest form of service. Reflections on Disruption Don't force innovation and disruption. While disruptions often are born as a single idea based on the conviction of a sole believer, the real push and momentum comes with group buy-in. It truly takes a village, and the same held true for LexThink.1 and the involvement of our 200+ attendees, all with the power to turn these sixminute disruption "pitches" into deeper conversations with real deliverables. Why not set up some work groups that collaborate to see how far they can take one of these ideas? Kick off a 12-month experiment to prove the impact of a "little" idea, and present the findings at LexThink.1 2014! While we look forward to LexThink.1 2014, we have 10 more months to embrace disruption and again look forward to change, which is the only constant in our quick-fire professional lives these days.
