O R G U.S.-headquartered firms have been generally slow to translate their website content, but there was a significant leap from 2016 where the average score was 40.3 ("poor") to Q4 2019 where the score was 74.0 ("good"). In this last study, there were still 13 Global 50 firms that had no translated content that researchers could find. Of the 37 firms with translations, the average number per firm was 4.2 languages. Most of these large firms promote themselves as "seamlessly global" with impressive strides toward equity, diversity and inclusion, yet do not equally communicate with visitors whose native language is not American or British English.
