An Ongoing Evolution KM doesn't stand still. As part of its ongoing evolution, KM is combining different approaches from around the globe, and moving away from keyword-led "search and browse" efforts towards recommended results that leverage knowledge graphs to provide valuable, contextual information. At the same time, the ability to measure knowledge management activity is making it possible to continually refine the offering and make it more useful to end users. Knowledge is also evolving into legal process. So, things like process mapping and matter checklists are becoming more part of the KM remit, as well as the data structuring that legal AI and AI classification are bringing to the previously unstructured world of legal data. This is all for the good. KM is more important than ever, and as it continues to evolve in new ways, it will keep on playing a central role in helping law firms efficiently navigate an ever-changing landscape while leveraging their most valuable asset: the collective knowledge of the firm.
