named listnames.txt in the target folder containing a complete list
of the folder names:
To include subfolders in the list, use the following command line:
cmd /r dir/b /s >listnames.txt
The list of queries Power Shell can perform are seemingly endless. A quick
search on the internet can provide some common queries or scripts "cmdlets".
SPREADSHEETS
While there are many tools out there to accomplish all manner of tasks –
all worth trying, Excel remains a staple and in some case, may be the only
option available. If your toolkit only includes Excel, learn what you need
– you already have it and the base knowledge you acquire is transferable to
other options in your future toolkit.
IDENTIFYING OR REMOVING DUPLICATES
Excel really makes identifying duplicate values easy with Conditional
Formatting. Select the area where you want to identify duplicates and on the
Home tab, select the Conditional Formatting tool:
Then use the Highlight Cells Rules
and Duplicate Values… tools under
the Home tab:
