A law firm will have multiple sets of outside counsel guidelines to keep track of, so it makes sense to deploy the right technolo tools to ensure compliance. These are time recording and billing tools that have been designed to minimize the friction of compliance while simultaneously ensuring the right amount of assertiveness is in place in the validation process. Thereafter, firms will get the most value from these systems if they conscientiously and systematically make the additional effort to nurture a culture that recognizes the importance of compliant time entry. This is done through communication of its importance to the firm; and via processes and procedures, as outlined, which educate and enable timekeepers so that they stay on track.
