A
journey of 1,000 miles
begins with a single step,
followed by another and
then another until you
eventually reach your
destination. If your road trips are anything like
my family's, they typically include a few detours,
a traffic jam or two and what seem like endless
construction zones. Armed with a good map and
a sense of adventure, we always made it to our
destination, and we usually had fun and learned a
few things in the process.
This journey metaphor applies to our team's
quest to introduce a new source of internal firm
intelligence at Sidley in the form of a global
experience management platform. Our goal—our
destination—was to transform the way the firm
captured and leveraged this internal intelligence
to serve clients, inform strate and support the
business. We started with a map and a sense of
adventure. We also had the good sense to know
that we needed the right co-pilot riding shotgun if
we were going to reach that destination. Here is our
story.
