I L T A W H I T E P A P E R | P R A C T I C E M A N A G E M E N T 2 G retings! This mini white paper is fairly diverse while offering great PM ideas. As we deliver legal services the focus is always on the processes. Developing, maintaining, improving, continuously assessing - work flow and process rule the air waves. My mantra is "Good process is good process." We can apply technolo tools and should apply them where applicable. What I gathered from this collection is that our goals should be symbiotic with striving to achieve efficient delivery of successful quality legal services. A current theme is found in utilizing technolo tools to not only automate processes to achieve efficiency, but leveraging tools to validate information. Reviewing of contracts throughout negotiation as versions are proposed, evaluated, and analyzed can be automated with AI technologies to transfer close to 75% of the tasks over to technolo solutions. Billing compliance delivers efficiencies that both streamline and increase validation throughout the invoicing process to ensure that invoices issued by firms comports with their billing guidelines. Billing remains one of the most complex and critical functions of the law firm back office, so providing tools to perform quality control throughout the billing process can avoid rework and speed up delivery and processing by clients. Managing expectations of in-house counsel can be attained by higher levels of sustained and integrated change management to achieve success. There are no magical, 'silver bullet solutions' in that some problem resolutions may forsake the ultimate goals of a project. Whether the solution is solely technolo or process intervention the main tenants of project management continue to be the application of technolo tools, improving processes to continually achieve better results and delivering results. These core PM values should always be a priority regardless of the motivation in developing a project.
