The available evidence shows that enterprise-level employees typically lack the awareness to prevent these scams from spreading. Artificial intelligence may provide an effective solution in these cases. Phishing emails contain several common elements, such as: • Mismatched URLs • Misleading domain names • Poor spelling and grammar • Unsolicited communication • Requests for personal information • Requests for money or advance credit • Claims of governmental affiliation Those who know how to identify these elements can easily discern phishing attempts—those who don't are easily by fooled if they aren't looking closely. Artificial intelligence can cross-reference URLs against official records and examine emails in the context of spelling and grammar. AI can also identify whether the sender is a known contact or the communication is arriving without an initial request. For businesses that receive repeat phishing attempts, an artificial intelligence email gatekeeper can potentially save them millions by preventing these attacks. Another key method by which artificial intelligence can protect companies is access security. Passwords make databases and networks vulnerable to outside intrusion, but transitioning to AI-backed multi-factor authentication can produce a safer environment in which to store corporate information. AI can analyze a user's behavior, device, location, and even biometrics to confirm identity. Even if a hacker or piece of malicious code has the correct username and password, multi-factor authentication could still prevent access to the company's network and alert the network administrator to the threat. Conclusion: Artificial Intelligence Offers Multiple Avenues for Efficiency Businesses in the 2020s are likely to experience greater pressure to incorporate artificial intelligence into their daily workflows. AI provides several advantages, including the freedom for well-trained employees to focus on higher-level tasks by automating menial tasks; employees accessing the documents that they need without having to solicit specific permissions from a network administrator; team members and visitors accessing secured areas on a campus without taking time from security personnel; and businesses better defending themselves against intrusions from malicious actors. The combination of increased productivity and robust security will encourage businesses to adopt this technolo as it becomes available at a lower cost. As a result, white-collar employees will see their jobs become more refined as their work is restricted to the creative endeavors that simply cannot be automated—for now.
