Often, we hear that the mistakes are what make our fate. During this podcast series we will find out what should have happened, what actually happened, and then dive into lessons learned. Knowing that hard work often breeds success, we want to know how a "What Went Wrong" moment changed the course of a career, an idea, or a life. Today, ILTA welcomes Cindy MacBean as she sits down with Beth Anne Stuebe, Director of Publications and Press. Cindy is the Litigation Support Manager at Honigman LLP; she is an active ILTA volunteer Litigation Support CCT member, and is the new Publications Liaison to the PPC, and she recently attended ILTACON 2019 in Florida. Similar to a fingerprint, "voiceprints" will soon become acceptable to digitally authenticate or sign legal documents. • Voice assistants will be personalized. They will learn an attorney's voice, moods and sentiment and be able to respond in an appropriate way with not just the right response with right time frame, but also using the correct tone and sentiment. These abilities set the stage for shifts in how lawyers work. Given all of the technological innovations that are transforming the legal industry, it truly is an exciting time to be practicing law. AI, analytics, and other technologies are empowering attorneys like never before, but voice-based technologies are making it easier for them to interact with these technologies, creating new efficiencies, enhancing productivity, and improving convenience for users. We are on the cusp of a dramatic shift in how legal work is performed and how justice is accessed, and voice- based technologies will play a significant role in the months and years to come.
