Similar to a fingerprint, "voiceprints" will soon become acceptable to digitally authenticate or sign legal documents. • Voice assistants will be personalized. They will learn an attorney's voice, moods and sentiment and be able to respond in an appropriate way with not just the right response with right time frame, but also using the correct tone and sentiment. These abilities set the stage for shifts in how lawyers work. Given all of the technological innovations that are transforming the legal industry, it truly is an exciting time to be practicing law. AI, analytics, and other technologies are empowering attorneys like never before, but voice-based technologies are making it easier for them to interact with these technologies, creating new efficiencies, enhancing productivity, and improving convenience for users. We are on the cusp of a dramatic shift in how legal work is performed and how justice is accessed, and voice- based technologies will play a significant role in the months and years to come.
