58 T he success of any online community can be attributed to the enthusiasm of the communities' members and their willingness to share and educate their peers. The ILTA membership has that in spades. With over 60 + online communities the diversity of the ILTA population becomes apparent. Whether your interest is in a specific product; a specific practice area; geography - there is something for everyone. As an ILTA member, once you log in - if you visit the communities page you can page through the listings of all of the online communities available. Did you know that of the ILTA membership there is a small but growing population of Law Schools members? ILTA currently has over 20 Law Schools as members. So it's not surprising that our newest addition to our online community list would be the Law Schools Community. ILTA's Law Schools Community is an open forum for law school faculty, administrators, IT staff, students, and any ILTA member interested in supporting efforts to improve legal technolo education for future lawyers. The Goals for the community are to increase collaboration among law school faculty and students around legal technolo issues. Identify ways to assist law schools with integrating legal technolo competencies into the curriculum. Build connections between law schools and other ILTA member entities to expose law students to the growing number of professional opportunities for lawyers. Serve as an information commons or pathfinder for information on legal technolo course syllabi, vendors open to academic agreements, certificate programs and centers, conferences, and publications. If your employer has an active ILTA membership and this sounds like something you would want to be a part of, click here to join the community. Want to know more about the online community? Emily Janoski- Haehlen, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at the University of Akron School of Law is the community's online champion. Is your Law School not yet a member? Reach out to Casey Baxley in our membership department and find out if your law school qualifies for a free first year membership. Diversity in Technolo [in the ILTAverse] is also displayed in how you interact within the communities. Once you join a community - you can participate in discussions while on the website or even directly from within your email inbox. Are you an RSS fan? Every user has a personal RSS feed which can be customized so that you are notified when new content (discussions, library entries, and blogs) are added to the site that you are interested in. You can customize what you want to be delivered to you and then copy and paste your personal feed link into the RSS reader of your choice. If being mobile is your thing - we've got you covered with the ILTA mobile app for our communities. Information Diversity of the ILTA-verse When read out loud - my article title sounds eerily like a message from Aereon in the Chronicles of Riddick. But fear not … unlike the Underverse (which is only available to a few select dead Lord Marshalls) the ILTAverse is available to all. Okay - I'll stop with the sci-fi references now ...
