The 15- member executive committee is chaired by Janet Day, Director of Technology and Infrastructure Services at Berwin Leighton Paisner and Regional Vice President of ILTA’s Europe Region. David Smith of Ford & Harrison LLP, Vice President of ILTA’s ADERANT Peer Group, popped the question to his sweetheart, Christine Roldan, during the March meeting of ILTA’s officers in Nashville! They’re targeting October, 2011 as the wedding date. David proposed to Christine in the Garden Conservatory section of the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, in a beautiful gazebo complete with a water fountain. David’s story is best told in his own words: I tried to figure out a way to get her to that point after dinner, and I used the excuse I wanted to walk around a bit to explore. When we finally made it (I was walking slowly, knock-kneed from nerves), I was surprised to find the area full of people. So I had to wait for folks to leave. Christine asked me several times if I was ready to leave, and I kept saying “hold on a second.” When the area was clear, I dropped to one knee, told her she was a gift from heaven that I couldn’t imagine life without, and asked her to marry me. After I got to both feet, relieved she said “yes,” we heard people cheering and clapping. I had no idea you could see into the gazebo from the room balconies as well as the walkway! Apparently we had an audience the entire time and didn’t know it! Several people came down and offered their congratulations. It was very cool :) If you have a special announcement to share with ILTA members, such as a career move, a wedding or an addition to your family, we’d love to hear from you. You can send announcements directly to editor@iltanet.org. If you prefer, give your news to your City Representative when you see him or her at a regional event. Your City Representative will pass on the news so that it can be published here in Peer to Peer. Congratulations to Charlene Wacenske of Morrison & Foerster LLP, Vice President of ILTA’s Records Management Peer Group. She and Andy Freeman were married on March 13. Not exactly a whirlwind courtship, they’ve been together for 21 years before officially tying the knot. Andy and Charlene will be going on their honeymoon this summer, a scuba diving adventure in Bonaire. 94 www.iltanet.org Peer to Peer
