contents June 2010 ASKTHE EXPERT Sally Gonzalez Sally Gonzalez, a Director in Hildebrandt Baker Robbins’ Strategic Technology Practice, has over twenty-five years of experience bringing business and IT together in strategic planning and implementation of complex, information-intensive systems that require tight integration of people, process, and technology. She is recognized as a leading expert in knowledge management for the legal services industry including the intersection of knowledge management with compliance, risk management, records management, and litigation readiness. During her career, Sally has provided consulting services to “Magic Circle,” AmLaw 100, and Canadian “Seven Sister” law firms as well as the legal departments of global Fortune 100 companies. She has also held senior IT leadership positions at several top-20 U.S. law firms. Sally received her B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College and completed Case Western’s Executive Program in the Management of Technology at the Weatherhead School of Management. As the decade turned, however, a shadow loomed. Not only had the economy turned sour, but clients were in revolt against high legal fees and at the billable hour itself.
