26 I nformation Governance ANZ was established in 2016 and brings together professionals from different disciplines across all types of organisations to develop and promote information governance best practices and innovations. By building a network of multi- disciplinary professionals, information silos will be broken down, enabling connected thinking and innovation that leads to information governance best practices. This, in turn, will promote the delivery of better outcomes for organisations by both minimising risk and maximising the value of the information held within organisations. The Information Governance ANZ community provides a forum to learn from leading practitioners, keep informed of the latest developments, and shape the future development of information governance. Our goals are to: • Build the knowledge of information governance, best practices, and innovation • Ensure professional discipline of information governance is recognised as a key component to managing the exponential rise in data in the information age • Create a community of information governance professionals in Australia and New Zealand Members, Take Note: Information Governance ANZ B Y M AT T H E W G O L A B Matthew Golab is the head of Legal Informatics at Gilbert + Tobin. He leads a specialised in-house multidisciplinary legal informatics team that utilises a variety of technology tools to facilitate large scale document/data production and review for commercial litigation, regulatory compliance (ATO, ASIC, ACCC) and due diligence for merger and acquisition transactions. He has more than 20 years of experience in the legal technology industry, including two of Australia's preeminent law firms, Allens for 13 years and Gilbert + Tobin for seven years. Matthew is Chair of the Association of Litigation Support Managers (ALSM), NSW chapter. He was an inaugural recipient of ILTA's Browning Marean Scholarship in 2015, providing international recognition of his leadership in eDiscovery and litigation technology. Matthew is Chair of the Association of Litigation Support Managers (ALSM), NSW chapter, and InfoGovANZ Advisory Board member. The Information Governance ANZ community provides a forum to learn from leading practitioners, keep informed of the latest developments, and shape the future development of information governance.
