Using Office 365 as Legal DMS
As I spoke with numerous firms at ILTACON 2017, it
became clear that just as in the Fortune 1000, law firms are
headed toward Microso Office 365 utilization. The only
questions remaining for technical people in our vertical have
to do with leveraging investment in Office 365 by expanding
utilization and reducing redundant systems.
Office 365 Groups provides powerful capabilities
previously unavailable to users and can be of great use to
firms that have already moved to Exchange email in Office
365. Seeing the power of Groups in Office 365, technologists
want to know, "Can we use this as a document management
system?" The answer is yes. By moving your data/content
into Office 365, users can benefit immensely from the
functionalities within Groups including provisioning,
security and migration.
Office 365 Groups Overview
An Office 365 group is a membership service, a way to
centralize membership for multiple Microso production
application elements inside Office 365. In the Microso
paradigm a "group" is used for two things:
To control access and capabilities to a selected set of users
regarding work product or content.
To push soware and its functionalities to a specific set of
users.
