Learning About the Learner
Many firms already realize the benefits of cloud-
driven services for deliverability, scalability and lower
soware, infrastructure and support costs. But how can
these soware as a service (SaaS) and infrastructure as
a service (IaaS) models influence the future of learning?
Cloud solutions that provide seamless integration
for single sign-on (SSO) and identity and access
management (IAM) are already having a positive
effect on learner engagement. Businesses find them
aractive for lowering user profile management and
administration costs, while end users are intrigued with
innovative ways to authenticate into mobile devices,
laptops and applications using facial, fingerprint and
voice recognition. As these technologies continue to
evolve, they literally place learning at our fingertips,
reducing barriers to obtaining the information we need.
Firms might also examine the use of an email
service provider (ESP) to transmit large volumes of
learning-related information without affecting the
firm's email and network infrastructure. Such services
already help firms manage IPs and mail authentication
What will classrooms of the future be like? Emerging technologies such as cloud computing, learning analytics, artificial intelligence
and wearables are paving the way for the future of learning. These promising technologies will change the way we deliver learning
and empower us with the data and analytics needed to increase the consumption and efficiency of learning within the law firm.
