from the president A s we near the close of the second quarter of 2012, we reflect on the success of our U.K. INSIGHT event and anticipate an equally successful SharePoint Symposium. We've grown both of these events to extend the educational and networking opportunities for our members. As with every ILTA event, we build on our successes and always look for ways to keep raising the bar. Collaboration: Looking forward to the second half of 2012 and beyond, we continue our strategic focus on collaboration. Our Executive Director, Randi Mayes, and I attended the annual conference of one of our valued sister organizations, National Association for Law Placement (NALP). Where ILTA's focus is centered on legal technology professionals, NALP focuses on the attorney recruiting and development arena. We had great discussions around opportunities for our organizations to exchange technology insights and education for legal professional development offerings. There are great possibilities for both groups to increase value for their members. We continue to work with the Legal Marketing Association (LMA), the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) and the American Library Association (ALA) on similar collaborative initiatives. Partnerships: We are developing partnerships with educational organizations that will provide leadership and service opportunities to our members. Four of our regions will be working with Year Up to give our member firms and law departments the opportunity to hire interns, bringing cost-effective resources to our organizations while also giving back to our communities. Innovations for Learning (IFL) uses technology to offer online tutoring and mentoring opportunities from your office. If you enjoy working with and making a difference in the lives of children, IFL may be for you. You'll be hearing more about the program as we explore the opportunities there. We hope to see you in Washington, D.C. at the end of August at our ac2dc conference. And we always welcome your thoughts and feedback to keep increasing ILTA's value.
