64 PEER TO PEER: THE QUARTERLY MAGAZINE OF ILTA | SPRING 2016 the Android platform over iOS. Because these were developed by Microso employees, I found it interesting that more of the mobile apps were not designed for the Windows Phone. I think that says a lot about that platform as it exists today, but who knows what the future holds with rumors of a "Surface Phone" floating around. As a technologist, it is interesting to see the many ways the minds at Microso are extending their technology. Anyone familiar with Mix or Sway will recognize parts of those new Microso tools in some of the apps. There are cool and useful tools in this list; I am hopeful this bevy of apps coming from Microso bodes well for what appears to be a bright future for the current iteration of the company. Even if you do not have time to explore the whole list right now, you owe it to yourself to check out Office Lens, Tossup, FindTime, InstaNote and Mouse Without Borders; all are excellent time and frustration savers. Fans of the Snipping Tool should check out its more advanced version, Snip, which integrates audio and inking. Most of these apps came from the Microsoft Garage (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/ garage), which is made up of people within Microsoft who see a need for software solutions to particular problems. They come together to work on solutions, and we get the benefits!
