Thought-leading professionals should use social media tools to promote their knowledge and accomplishments. LinkedIn is a great resource that enables you to highlight your portfolio of experiences (and get bonus points for your firm in the process). I've used ILTA volunteer activities in this example, but you can apply these tips to all your experiences. BEGIN WITH PROJECTS LinkedIn is a great venue for social networking and the curation of an online resume. However, many people don't realize they can easily add concrete examples of what they've accomplished while simultaneously increasing exposure for their firm, recognizing their peers and highlighting the ongoing value associations provide to their memberships. This low-cost, high-yield opportunity is the often overlooked "Projects" area of your LinkedIn profile. The Projects section is a place to list accomplishments, tag others in the associated effort and provide links to the resulting deliverable(s). Projects appear on your profile under the "Experience" section, in the same way you see jobs, volunteer causes and education listings. LinkedIn To Highlight Your Portfolio of Experience
