2 P E E R T O P E E R : I L T A ' S Q U A R T E R L Y M A G A Z I N E | S U M M E R 2 0 2 0 F R O M T H E C E O T here is an old saying that "Life Begins at 40." As I have written before, 2020 marks the 40th birthday of ILTA and ILTA's educational conference. Right now, we are full speed ahead on ILTA>ON – the next generation of ILTA's annual educational conference. The global pandemic has made it necessary to move from ILTACON to ILTA>ON for 2020. It is easy to focus on the challenges associated with that. We choose to focus, instead, on the opportunities. ILTA>ON can provide greater access for our colleagues outside North America for whom travel to ILTACON is most expensive. ILTA>ON can bring new faces and voices to our conversation because team passes make it easier for more people to attend from a single organization. Business Partners can provide greater access to technical resources who might not normally have an opportunity to attend ILTACON. Speakers for whom travel would be challenging are now a Zoom call away. Through all this we will learn. We will learn as we always learn through ILTA – great technical and industry insights. However, just as "Life Begins at 40" with new haircuts, long- desired hobbies, and a fresh perspective, ILTA>ON opens new vistas. We will also learn new ways to shine when we can't be in person. New ways to make connections when a handshake isn't possible. New techniques for establishing and nurturing relationships that are totally virtual. Let's be clear: I am absolutely looking forward to ILTACON 2021. Vegas, Baby! Seeing dear friends and making new ones. However, right now I am energized for ILTA>ON! As those opportunities become realities, we can celebrate together peer powered-ness! See you (virtually!) in August! Keep safe and well! ILTA Joy Heath Rush joy@iltanet.org
