17 I L T A N E T . O R G Applications can be built using 1, 2 or all 3 of these competencies. Depending on how the application is architected, there can be a degree of dependency. For example, a typical solution that utilises all 3 core competencies is outlined below. Internal Stakeholders are able to: • select pre-designed contract templates, organized by contract type or industry vertical. • Complete a draft version of those contract templates by inputting answers to questions built into the solution. • navigate pre-built workflows to ensure contract compliance. • depart from standard language in certain, pre-defined situations. • download and store the final contract in Word or PDF format. • Track all user input and workflow data. And we've seen clients build the first iteration of the above workflow solution in Neota in less than a week! Now ask yourself, do lawyers really need to code!? What else? This is a question I get a lot of as someone whose job it is to speak every day to the market about the benefits of Neota Logic and no code platforms. My answer is generally, what can't you do! Empowering everyone No-code platforms enable those who have never developed an app before to engage in the software development process. For many people, this is an incredibly empowering and exciting introduction to a world traditionally walled-off by complex coding languages and years of school. Business users and subject matter experts can automate their processes by rapidly prototyping & building apps without coding skills or dependency on overstretched IT department. Law Firms and legal departments can now accelerate their digital transformation journey by leveraging agile development to generate new revenue & improve operational efficiency. And all done without touching a single line of code! Whether your firm or legal department decides to adopt a no-code approach or not, here's our advice for beginning your digital transformation journey: • Start small – don't look into building an app based on 5 pages of decision trees. Build something that addresses 80% of the most common questions. Your subject matter experts are on hand to deal with the rest. • Working with subject matter experts is key – getting the SME together for requirement gathering is key. The build is the easy part! • Think about the end user – Think about the user experience. Who is the intended audience? • Think about the objectives of what you want the app to achieve – a clear objective is paramount. Be very clear on what the solution is trying to achieve.
